Produced by filmmakers Flora Lichtman and Katherine Wells, Tornado Man is a 5-minute short that documents the obsession of Canadian electrical engineer Louis Michaud, who’s idea of producing clean energy through the power of man-made tornados has been a work-in-progress since the 1970s. Having been funded in 2012 to create his own vortex, with an additional $300,000 awarded in 2014, Michaud remains confident in his invention’s future. Aside from the scientific, Tornado Man is an intimate portrayal of the power of belief and radical thinking.
