The concept of teaching yourself something by simple putting it into practice is a lesson as old as time, and often times overlooked. Your exercise today: write about how to tie a shoe. Go ahead and come back when you’re finished.
Its a teaching moment offered by a prominent designer, who chose to take his life on the road for a tour across the country in his bright orange van, quickly headed down the road of knowledge, if you will. In promotion of his book, Pretty Much Everything, Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co., was a guest on the Overtime podcast, where he inspires us with a reminder that it may be time for some to find their true self and just be themselves.
The entire episode itself cannot be written or explained — just like he mentions, that tying a shoe should probably be shown.
