One of our favorite podcasts out there is Song Exploder, a Los Angeles-based creation hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway. While many platforms focus on the musician, the beauty of Song Exploder is how it dissects the actual music.
In each episode a song is broken down by the artist who created it, piece by piece. All of the components, including the inspiration behind its origins and how it came together are carefully dissected and produced in a way that allows the reader to really understand how sounds combine to produce magic to our ears.
While Song Exploder is now on its 116th installment, one of our favorites is Episode 40, featuring Emmy-nominated composer Ramin Djawadi, who breaks down the inspiration behind one of his most famed works, the main title theme to Game of Thrones.
